Cover Him

Long, long list of Springsteen covers. I'd really like to hear Dave Alvin's version of "Seeds" - a personal favorite of mine.

Update: here's the song and I don't care for it. Too jaunty.

Bill Maher

Bill Maher on the Tea Party -

Everything that goes into defense costs us about a trillion dollars a year, most of which goes into fighting the Russians in 1978. Fighter planes for all those dog fights we get into with the Taliban, submarines to foil their evil plot to blow up our ships with car bombs, and space lasers to shoot down their exploding underpants...scream about handouts, this is what they should be protesting.

Exactly.

James Robertson House

A stunning residence on Pittwater Bay in Australia - bravely open to the elements. I think I'd be willing to take my chances here.

Cash

Interesting virtual tours of new, security-heavy US currency.

But if you ask for a rise

Giving none away

Wrapworks

There can't be a tastier, healthier and cost-effective lunch in St Catharines than the awesome falafel pita wrap at Wrapworks on Glenridge. Seriously good fast food.

Ziggy Stardust

5years.com is a highly detailed website devoted to Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" album, which I've been spinning steadily for the past couple weeks. It's all part of my "rediscover the seventies" program.

Malc

Malcolm McLaren is gone. Although he apparently wasn't entirely upstanding, he was a fascinating cultural genius who always seemed a notch smarter than his subjects (possibly excluding Lydon).

In addition to supreme management and packaging skills, he also produced some interesting music himself. His weirdly eclectic, but immensely satisfying "Duck Rock" album from 1983 has always been a huge favorite of mine.

Indoor Gardens

Awesome gallery of indoor gardens.

I fittingly happened to be listening to Eno's "Another Green World" when I discovered this.
