Magazines

The recent Rolling Stone / Obama flap reminded me that I used to subscribe to Rolling Stone during the late 70's and early 80's. That got me thinking about other publications I used to devour. Although I have little interest in print mags now (I read tons online), here's a chronological list of the ones that I read on a regular basis back in the day:

Mad
Creepy
Heavy Metal
National Lampoon
Circus
Hit Parader
Creem
Skateboarder
Rolling Stone
Omni
Trouser Press
Spin
Option
Sound Choice
Wired

Disclosure: fully aware this is of no interest to anyone but me.

Backyard Movies

Everything you need to know about creating a backyard theater can be found, naturally, at backyardtheater.com.

As someone who loves movies but generally doesn't care for the traditional theater experience, the backyard theater concept is intriguing to me. I'm imagining myself watching "Goodfellas" in my backyard, with a beer or two, on a warm July night - that sounds pretty damn nice.

Three Times a Lady

How long since the Big Bang - 13 billion years? It's taken that long before any human had a reason to write the phrase "Lady Gaga arrives with a rhinestone encrusted crustacean on her face", but it was finally necessary.

Upper Manhattan
